Years after their divorce, Megan Fox's ex-husband confessed, 'I was only guided by my attractiveness'

Brian Austin Green, former husband of actress Megan Fox, has publicly acknowledged that physical attraction was the primary factor in their long-term relationship. Speaking in the podcast I Do, Part 2, Green revealed that he was initially drawn to Fox solely because of her looks, a pattern he claims repeated itself in other relationships. The couple, who were together for nearly 15 years, officially divorced in 2021, though Green is only now openly discussing the role physical appearance played in their union. Green and Fox’s relationship began when Fox was 18 and he was 30. Their bond was marked by turbulence, including two weddings and three children. Despite the challenges, Green admitted that his initial interest in Fox was purely based on her physical appeal. “My ex-wife and I were together almost 15 years, and I was guided only by physical attractiveness,” he said. He described this as a recurring pattern in his past relationships, where he would be initially attracted by someone's looks before attempting to build a connection around that. Over time, tensions arose that exposed deeper issues within their relationship. In a conversation with Tori Spelling during the podcast misSPELLING, Green recalled how Fox began to notice even small things, such as the way he chewed food. “That was a sign that things weren’t right anymore. When you get to that point, everything starts to bother you,” he explained. The divorce proved difficult for Green, yet it also became a turning point for personal growth. As a father of four sons, three with Fox and one from a previous marriage, he decided to examine his behavior patterns and seek professional help. “I knew I didn’t want to repeat the same mistakes,” he admitted. Therapy helped him recognize problematic relationship patterns and understand the importance of emotional connection over superficial attraction. Currently, Green is in a relationship with fiancée Sharna Burgess, with whom he has a son. He emphasizes that through this new relationship, he has learned the value of empathy, understanding, and mutual respect in maintaining a stable partnership. “Through this relationship, I’ve come to appreciate how much more than just looks can make a lasting bond,” he said.
