Supreme Court to hear election appeals, deadline just two more days

The Constitutional Court of Kosovo has two more days to decide on five appeals filed by political entities and candidates challenging the results of the June 7 elections. The court has confirmed that these appeals are still under review and that decisions will be made within the legal deadline of five days from the date the appeals were received. The Central Election Commission (CEC) is awaiting these rulings. According to CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi, if the court’s decision does not impose obligations on the CEC, the institution will immediately proceed with certifying the final election results. Otherwise, the CEC will first comply with the court’s orders before certification. Analysts note that once the court completes reviewing the appeals, the legal phase of the process will end, allowing for the certification of results. Political parties and candidates will then lose the right to file further appeals regarding the election outcome. Analyst Vullnet Bugaqku from the Democratic Institute of Kosovo emphasized that the 30-day period for constituting parliament begins from the day the election results are certified. Feyza: The opposition is calling for elections yet without certifying the results, did you not get the message from the citizens?

Bias read (Progressive): The article frames the opposition's call for new elections as unreasonable, using critical language such as 'pakuptimtë' (unreasonable), which implies disapproval of their stance. The tone suggests alignment with the ruling party's position by highlighting the lack of certified results and the early

CEC will certify the results of the June 7 elections tomorrow

The Central Election Commission (KQZ) is expected to certify the results of the early parliamentary elections held on July 7th in Kosovo. A spokesperson for KQZ, Valmir Elezi, announced that the commission’s meeting will take place on Thursday at 11:00 AM. The meeting was scheduled after the Supreme Court rejected five administrative appeals against decisions by the Electoral Complaints and Appeals Panel (PZAP). The court ruled that the panel’s decisions regarding the final results were in line with the Constitution and the Law on General Elections, and that the appeals lacked credible evidence to justify interference in the election outcomes.

Bias read (Center): The article presents a factual update on the legal process surrounding the certification of election results. It reports the actions of multiple institutions—KQZ and the Supreme Court—with balanced language and no overt ideological slant. While the subject matter is politically charged, the framing,
