The company signed a comprehensive EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contract with WALDEVAR Energy, marking a key milestone in its strategy to develop advanced energy projects in Southeast Europe. The project, located in Gheorgheni, Romania, involves the construction of a standalone battery system with a capacity of 55 MW and 220 MWh. It features a reliable connection to the power grid, secured land ownership, and all necessary permits for grid connection, positioning it among high-quality, investment-ready projects with long-term growth potential. The Gheorgheni project represents the largest ongoing initiative for GEN-I Sonce in Romania and exemplifies the company’s approach to developing energy projects from initial phases through to mature, investment-ready infrastructure.
