In the July 2026 Henley Passport Index, Nigeria ranks 45th in Africa and 90th globally, allowing visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 44 destinations. This places Nigeria among the continent's weakest passports, tied with the Democratic Republic of the Congo at 90th globally. South Africa holds the top spot in Africa, ranking 49th globally with access to 101 visa-free destinations.
