FRSC arrests 39 vehicles in Kebbi for overloading, route violations, other offences

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has arrested 39 vehicles in Kebbi State for violating traffic laws, including overloading, route violations, and other offenses during a special enforcement operation. The operation, which took place from July 20 to July 22, was announced by the Kebbi Sector Command, led by Sector Commander Rukayya Zakaria. During a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi, Zakaria revealed that the campaign targeted critical traffic violations that pose risks to road users. The operation, named “Daidaita Lodi” and “Lodi Limit,” was executed concurrently across all seven operational units of the FRSC within the state. The enforcement drive focused on several key areas, such as overloading, mixed loading, improper routing, tyre-related issues, and other regulatory breaches. According to Zakaria, these violations contribute significantly to road accidents and threaten public safety. She emphasized that the operation was part of the FRSC's routine nationwide enforcement efforts, which can occur weekly, monthly, or quarterly based on instructions from the Corps' headquarters. This initiative aims to enhance adherence to road safety protocols, reduce traffic incidents, and safeguard the lives of drivers and pedestrians. Collaboration with law enforcement agencies played a central role in the success of the operation. The FRSC worked alongside the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to carry out the intervention patrols.
