Around 11 PM, a fire broke out at the Rooster Coffee café in Maribor, starting in the coffee roasting machine. The fire spread into the chimney, emitting sparks and heavy smoke that reached the roof, creating the appearance that the fire had spread to the roof. When the smoke reached the student dormitories above the café, approximately 18 foreign students were evacuated to safety. No one was injured. Firefighters from the Maribor Fire Department, along with volunteers from two local fire brigades, responded to the incident. Initially, they believed the fire had spread to the roof, but upon arrival, they confirmed the fire was confined to the roasting machine. The cause is suspected to be a fault in the coffee roasting equipment. The affected areas, including the attic, were ventilated, and the students were allowed to return to their rooms after some time.
