CroatiaThe construction of a new football stadium in Kranjčevićeva Street in Zagreb has progressed significantly over the past year and a half. The steel roof structure on the northern stand has been completed, and work has begun on the southern and western stands. Once all four sides of the stadium are finished, work will start beneath the stands, where 11,163 covered seating places are planned. The total cost of the project, carried out by the company Strabag, is around €44 million. Although initially scheduled for completion by late 2026, the stadium is now expected to open in early 2027. The main field will measure 105 x 68 meters, meeting UEFA Category 4 standards. The project also includes improvements to infrastructure, such as a new city square covering 6,300 square meters, a parking lot for more than 400 cars, and the planting of approximately 150 trees. Completion of the Kranjčevićeva stadium will allow for the long-awaited demolition and reconstruction of the Maksimir Stadium, which is projected to be finished by 2030.
