Kandidiral bo kot neodvisni kandidat s podporo volivcev. Njegova napoved je bila objavljena na osrednjem jurovskem trgu, kjer je predstavil svoje cilje in vizijo za razvoj občine. Ključna tema njegove kandidate vključuje transparentnost, odgovornost in povezovanje med občanima, ter poudarek na kakovosti bivalnega okolja in trajnostnem razvoju. Njegova vizija vključuje povezovanje med občanmi, sodelovanje z gospodarstvom, investitorji in državo, ter izobraževanje in podporo mladini. "Pomembne odločitve ne smejo nastajati za zaprtimi vrati. Ljudje najbolje poznajo svoje potrebe, stroka pa pomaga poiskati najboljše rešitve."

V občini Sveti Jurij v Slovenskih goricah živi Waldhütter že 26 let. Je član lovske družine, tekmuje v mednarodni strelski ligi in je zadnjih deset let inštruktor športnega strelstva pri Strelski zvezi Slovenije. Od 16 leta je povezan s kulturo, posebej z akademsko folklorno skupino KUD Študent Maribor, s katero ostaja povezan še danes. Prepoznaval je ogromno izkušenj, ki jih prenaša naprej. Pomagat tudi soprogi, ki vodi otroško folklorno skupino v našem kraju, kjer dosegajo lepe rezultate na nacionalni ravni. Del njegovih izkušenj je povezan tudi z dolgoletnim sodelovanjem s skupino Frajkinclari. Za svoje kulturno delo je prejel častno Maroltovo značko za več kot 30 let delovanja na kulturnem področju.

Waldhütter je ustanovil podjetje na demografsko manj razvitem območju in kot direktor ter solastnik spoznal številne izzive podjetništva. "Imamo dobro osnovno za razvoj občine. Čudovito ohranjeno naravno okolje, pridne in delovne ljudi ter močno tradicijo. Ne potrebujemo revolucije, temveč premišljen, uravnotežen in trajnosten razvoj." Med ključnimi razvojnimi nalogami omeni: razvito in zanesljivo infrastrukturo, kakovosten javni prostor in storitve, ki jih občani potrebujejo, podporo kmetijstvu, podjetniškim idejam in društvom. Pomembna se mu zdi jasna opredelitev identitete kraja, vse pozornost pa želi nameniti ljudem – starejšim in mladim ter mladim družinam. Ker so sredstva omejena, bo, kot nadaljuje, nujno povezovanje, in to tako z gospodarstvom, investitorji kot tudi z državo in evropskimi razpisi ter iskanje novih razvojnih priložnosti. Waldhütter je poudaril, da bo v prihodnjih mesecih predvsem poslušal ljudi, se z njimi pogovarjal ter slišal njihove predloge, skrbi in pričakovanja. "Verjamem, da nobena vizija za ljudi ne more nastati brez ljudi. Zato želim, da naslednje poglavje razvoja naše občine začrtamo skupaj," je zaključil. Napovedal je tudi oblikovanje ekipe občinskih svetnikov in sodelavcev, ki jo bodo povezovali odgovornost, pripravljenost na sodelovanje in skupna vizija razvoja občine. "V prihodnjih mesecih želim predvsem poslušati ljudi, se z njimi pogovarjati ter slišati njihove predloge, skrbi in pričakovanja. Verjamem, da nobena vizija za ljudi ne more nastati brez ljudi. Zato želim, da naslednje poglavje razvoja naše občine začrtamo skupaj," je zaključil.

Ključne razvojne usmeritve Waldhütter je postavil v ospredje razvoj sodobne infrastrukture, kakovostnega javnega prostora in dostopnih javnih storitev, podporo kmetijstvu, podjetništvu in društvom, ohranjanje identitete kraja ter skrb za starejše, mlade in družine. "Moj cilj je občina, v kateri bodo mladi videli prihodnost, družine kakovostno okolje za življenje, starejši varnost, društva podporo za svoje delo, kmetovalci in podjetniki pa sogovornika za razvoj. Prepričan sem, da je mogoče vse to razvijati hkrati, če imamo jasno smer in dovolj sodelovanja," je poudaril.
