BEIn Flémalle, a new gas-fired power plant operated by Engie has been commissioned and officially opened. The facility uses combined cycle technology, where a gas turbine generates two-thirds of the energy, and waste heat from exhaust gases is recovered to produce steam, which powers the remaining third of the energy output. This results in an efficiency rate of 63%, making it one of the most efficient plants globally. The investment amounts to €650 million, and the plant is designed to supply electricity to over one million households annually.
