After the summer session of the state maturity exams in Croatia, final enrollment lists were published, and future students are now completing the formal part of their university application process. Approximately 15,000 spots remained unfilled for the autumn session. In an interview on HTV's 'Study 4' program, Vinko Filipović, director of the National Center for External Evaluation of Education, discussed the results of the summer session. He noted that 764 high school graduates and over 5,500 vocational school students failed the exam, representing 7.3% and 38% of those who took it, respectively. Filipović mentioned that there were more complaints this year compared to previous years, attributing this partly to the influence of artificial intelligence. He emphasized that while some students do not take the time to file complaints, they often rely on teachers to do so if they agree. Overall, 6,940 complaints were filed this year, but Filipović stressed the importance of highlighting how many were rejected rather than just the total number. He stated that 37% of complaints were accepted, while 63% were rejected.
