Farm attack horror: Farmer’s fingers cut as suspects in police uniforms steal guns and cash

Four armed individuals wearing police uniforms and reflective gear attacked a farmer in Limpopo province, brutally torturing him before stealing firearms, cash, and other valuables. The suspects, believed to be dressed as law enforcement officers, ambushed the victim on a farm in the Morebeng policing area, reportedly tying up both the farmer and his employees and using threats and violence to extract information about hidden assets. The assault occurred on Thursday afternoon, around 1 pm, when the suspects arrived at the farm and confronted an employee, demanding to know where their employer was located. The employee, suspecting foul play, tried to escape but was intercepted by one of the attackers, who allegedly brandished a firearm and restrained him. The suspects then waited on the property for nearly three hours before the farm owner and two others returned. Upon arrival, they were met with gunfire and forced to comply with the robbers' demands. During the confrontation, the farmer was subjected to physical abuse, including being struck with a pick and sjambok, and his fingers were severed using a sidecutter in an effort to compel him to disclose the location of a safe's key. After the farmer failed to provide the information, the suspects broke into the safe and claimed to have taken rifles, one pistol, ammunition, and an unspecified sum of money. They also seized a bank card and four mobile phones. One of the suspects allegedly discharged a firearm during the incident, though it is unclear whether the weapon was used against any of the victims. The perpetrators then fled the scene in a 1999 model white Toyota Hilux Double-Cab, registered under the license plate BHY 893 L. The stolen vehicle and all recovered items are currently being sought by authorities. Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are actively pursuing leads to identify the suspects. A spokesperson for the Limpopo police department, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, confirmed that the suspects remain unidentified and that no arrests have yet been made.
