The individual, identified as being of Cuban origin, installed the makeshift shelters without official permits or federal concessions, according to reports from local authorities and community members. Residents have called for the immediate removal of the structures and the involvement of the Federal Environmental Prosecutor’s Office (Profepa) and local authorities to ensure the beaches remain publicly accessible. In the latest case, Profepa placed 33 temporary closure seals on 17 plots of land within the San Isidro Miramar property, where illegal logging was detected over 130.8 hectares.
