Entity, second fastest growing in the country

Tamaulipas, a state in northeastern Mexico, ranked second nationally in economic growth during the first quarter of 2026, according to data released by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi). The state’s economy expanded by 5.2% annually during this period, surpassing several other states including Colima, Tabasco, Puebla, and Baja California Sur. Only Hidalgo recorded a higher growth rate.
