NGEngineers from the Institute of Appraisers and Cost Engineers (IACE) in Nigeria have urged for stronger implementation of engineering valuation, cost engineering, and engineering economy principles to tackle issues like cost overruns, waste, and inefficiencies in project execution. The call was made during the 2026 National Technical Conference of the IACE in Abuja, which focused on solutions for emerging economies. President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Ali Rabiu, emphasized the importance of maximizing limited resources to meet infrastructure and economic growth needs. He highlighted the necessity of engineering evaluation and cost optimization for effective public and private investment. Outgoing IACE chairman, Engr.
