According to reports published by El País, the government informed a high-end real estate agency of its search for a property measuring between 250 and 400 square meters with a large terrace, which matches the specifications of the apartment ultimately acquired by the state-owned entity. The property was purchased for 6.3 million euros and is now being sold again for 6.69 million euros. Planifica Madrid reached out to a real estate firm based in La Moraleja via an online advertisement, according to the newspaper. The agency presented the company with at least two properties. The first was located in the Argüelles neighborhood, along the Paseo del Pintor Rosales, and covered approximately 350 square meters with a 200-square-meter terrace. Its price tag was four million euros. Sources cited by El País noted that during the initial phase of the search, there was no indication that the property needed to accommodate offices or meeting rooms. The second option was the apartment in question, situated on Calle General Martínez Campos. This unit came at a cost of two million euros more than the first. The procurement process lasted around one and a half months before the official purchase agreement was signed on April 14. The transaction raises questions about the rationale behind selecting this particular property, especially since it does not meet the functional requirements of a commercial space. Miguel Ángel García Martín, the deputy head of the Madrid regional government and spokesperson for the administration, filed a request for a hearing before the Assembly of Vallecas. The date of his appearance has yet to be confirmed, though officials have stated that he will provide further clarification regarding the management of Planifica Madrid's assets. These remarks come after previous statements made by Ayuso herself, who pointed to the Ministry of Presidency as having detailed information following a controversy over the acquisition. In response to earlier allegations that the apartment might serve as a private residence for Ayuso, García Martín denied such claims, emphasizing that the government had not designated an official residence for the president.
