One person has died and five people have been injured in fires across the country in the last 24 hours, 126 fires have been extinguished

During the past 24 hours, fire services across the country responded to numerous incidents, resulting in one fatality and five injuries. A total of 126 fires were extinguished, marking a significant number of emergency responses within a single day. The information was shared by the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, highlighting the scale and urgency of the situation.

The incident that led to the death occurred in a residential house located in the town of Sadovo, Plovdiv region. A man aged 52 lost his life during the blaze. Two other individuals, a 83-year-old man and an 81-year-old woman, were injured and transported to the hospital for treatment. The fire was successfully put out using two firefighting vehicles stationed in Plovdiv. This case underscores the dangers associated with residential fires, particularly when they occur in older homes where structural integrity might be compromised.

In another instance, a fire broke out in an abandoned wooden structure situated in the neighborhood of "Losenets" in Sofia. Two men, aged 63 and 43, were affected by inhaling toxic gases and suffered minor burns. They received medical attention following the incident. Five firefighting units were deployed on-site to manage the situation effectively. This highlights the risks posed by neglected properties, which can become highly hazardous if left unattended.

A third incident involved a tractor catching fire in the village of Vedrina, Dobrichka municipality. A 31-year-old man sustained injuries as a result of this accident. Three firefighting vehicles from both Dobrich and Varna stations were dispatched to handle the situation. Such occurrences emphasize the importance of regular maintenance and safety checks in agricultural equipment to prevent such accidents.

Across the nation, firefighters attended to 181 calls related to emergencies, leading to the extinguishing of 126 fires. Of these, 35 resulted in direct material damage, affecting various types of structures and vehicles. Notably, nine of these fires originated in residential buildings, three in auxiliary constructions, ten in transport vehicles, one in a forest area, six in agricultural settings, and six in other categories. Conversely, 91 fires occurred without causing material damage, primarily involving dry grass, shrubs, and waste materials.

Firefighters also conducted 42 rescue operations and assistance missions, including five related to traffic accidents, 35 for technical support, and two for aiding civilians. Additionally, thirteen false alarms were reported, indicating potential issues with public awareness or misuse of emergency services. These figures illustrate the complex nature of fire incidents, ranging from accidental causes to deliberate acts, and the need for continued vigilance and education among the population.
