Dutch ice cream brand Magnum opens R&D, innovation centre in Bengaluru

The Dutch ice cream brand Magnum has opened a new research, design, and innovation (RD&I) center in Bengaluru, India. This facility, located in Whitefield, spans 13,000 square feet and includes an ice cream science laboratory, a digitally enabled pilot plant, and areas for product and packaging assessment, sensory testing, and cold-chain and climate testing. The center will collaborate with TMICC’s global design center in Colworth, UK, and its regional innovation hub in Istanbul, Turkey. The facility aims to accelerate product development tailored to Indian consumer preferences and market conditions, including innovations in cups, sticks, cones, kulfi, and premium ice cream cakes. Chitrank Goel, deputy managing director of Kwality Walls (India) Limited, stated that the center will enable faster responses to changing consumer needs and help build a future-ready ice cream business in India.
