Five Argentine psychologists who transformed the view on mental health are distinguished

Five Argentine psychologists have been recognized for transforming the understanding of mental health, according to the Fundación Konex, which awarded them the Diplomas al Mérito 2026. The recipients, Gabriela Dueñas, Marisa Punta Rodulfo, Alicia Stolkiner, Fernando Urribarri, and Hugo Vezzetti, are acknowledged for their contributions to expanding the scope of psychology beyond traditional clinical settings into education, medicine, law, social sciences, and public policy. Their work has helped shift the discourse around mental health from isolated consultations to broader societal conversations involving anxiety, problematic consumption, childhood, violence, relationships, and emotional well-being.
