A married couple from the Czech Republic encountered a dangerous situation while on a superyacht and inflatable mattress near Baska Voda on the island of Brač. Strong winds carried them away from the shore towards the open sea, putting their lives at risk. However, they were rescued thanks to the quick response of local citizens and the Luka captaincy. According to information from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport, and Infrastructure of Croatia, the alert was raised by a fisherman who noticed two people being carried out to sea. A citizen operating a glider aircraft quickly responded and helped retrieve the couple approximately 0.6 nautical miles from Oseka Point, bringing them safely back to land without injuries. The rescuers emphasized that the timely action prevented a tragedy.
