DepEd partners with BCBP to boost transparency in school infra projects

The Department of Education (DepEd) in the Philippines has entered into a partnership with the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP) to enhance transparency and accountability in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, particularly the PPP for Schools Infrastructure Project (PSIP). Under a memorandum of understanding (MOU), the BCBP will act as an independent third-party observer, reviewing key stages of project implementation such as development, pre-procurement, procurement, and monitoring. The collaboration aims to improve educational infrastructure by addressing classroom shortages and upgrading learning environments while adhering to legal frameworks and maintaining impartiality. Education Secretary Sonny Angara highlighted the importance of transparency in delivering effective education programs, while BCBP Chairman Luis Jose P. Ferrer stressed the organization's commitment to ethical leadership and responsible partnerships.
