The Democratic nomination for the Michigan Senate seat has been won by progressive Democrat Abdul El-Sayed.

In a tightly contested race, progressive Democrat Abdul El-Sayed has secured the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate seat in Michigan, defeating Congresswoman Haley Stevens with a narrow margin. The results were announced after a prolonged count of votes, marking a significant victory for the left wing of the Democratic Party. El-Sayed's win comes amid intense internal divisions within the party, as he seeks to unify its base ahead of the November general election against Republican candidate Mike Rogers. The final tally showed a close contest, with the difference between El-Sayed and Stevens falling below 15,000 votes, less than one percentage point of the over 1.5 million ballots cast.
