Danniella Westbrook, a 52-year-old former EastEnders actress, is preparing for her seventh facial reconstruction surgery, during which surgeons will harvest part of her ribs to support her nose. The procedure, scheduled for October, marks another step in her long journey to address damage caused by decades of drug abuse. In an interview with Vanessa Feltz on Feltz’s YouTube channel, Westbrook described feeling “absolutely exhausted” and admitted she feels like she has “nothing left” after enduring multiple surgeries. Westbrook has undergone extensive medical treatments since 2024, following years of substance misuse that led to severe physical deterioration. Her septum collapsed in 1999, prompting a series of corrective procedures. According to her recent statements, she has completed six of the planned ten surgeries, though she expressed fatigue and concern about continuing with further operations. Her upcoming surgery involves using rib cartilage to rebuild and support her nasal structure. During the interview, Westbrook pointed to her nose and explained that surgeons would reshape it, making it “skinny” and pulling it upward, while inserting rib tissue on either side for structural reinforcement. Vanessa Feltz reacted with surprise, exclaiming, “B****y hell,” upon learning that doctors would be using bone from her ribs for the nasal reconstruction. Westbrook acknowledged her deep trust in her surgeon but voiced concerns about subjecting her body to repeated anesthesia and lengthy procedures. Each surgery lasts approximately five to six hours, followed by a demanding recovery period. She admitted to feeling physically drained after waking from surgery, often requesting rest immediately afterward. Despite the challenges, Westbrook emphasized that her motivation extends beyond appearance. She stated that without these surgeries, she would struggle to breathe properly. This necessity has kept her committed to the process despite the toll on her body and mental state. Earlier this year, she traveled to Dubai for additional procedures, including a face, neck, and brow lift, along with lip and nose reconstruction. Even after these interventions, she admitted to hating how she looked, noting that she had recently required a facelift to correct asymmetry in her face. Reflecting on her past, Westbrook detailed the extent of her drug addiction, revealing that she was fired from EastEnders after relapsing. At the height of her addiction, she estimated consuming two ounces of cocaine weekly, often flushing it away if she feared being discovered. Her health deteriorated significantly, with her weight dropping to just over six stone before entering rehabilitation. She described being so underweight that her ribs and spine were visibly prominent. Westbrook’s journey highlights the intersection of personal struggle, medical intervention, and public life.
