Croatia, thunderstorms and devastation: heavy damage to campsites, boats and cars.

A violent storm hit the northern Adriatic region in recent days, causing significant damage and two injuries. The areas most affected were the islands of Lussino and Krk in Croatia, where strong winds and tornadoes uprooted trees, damaged campsites, boats, and cars. On July 20, a woman was struck by lightning while holding an umbrella on the beach of Baška on the island of Krk and was hospitalized in intensive care. In the night between July 18 and 19, approximately 50 trees fell onto parked cars, tents, and roads on the island of Lussino. Many boats were pushed ashore by the wind along the coasts of Lussino, Unie, and Sansego, and several vessels were in distress off the coast. One boat carrying three Austrian tourists was rescued by the Croatian coast guard before it sank.
