CroatiaMontenegro has fully aligned its visa policy with the European Union, implementing new visa requirements for citizens of Belarus, China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey starting November 1st. This move fulfills one of the final criteria for closing the EU accession chapter 24, which relates to justice, freedom, and security, as well as a key obligation under the Reform Agenda. The decision reinforces Montenegro’s commitment to European integration and opens the possibility of withdrawing approximately four million euros from the Western Balkans Growth Plan. To mitigate potential negative impacts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has introduced measures to simplify the visa application process, including allowing applications through VFS Global centers in several countries. The government also plans to expand the network of visa application centers across multiple regions.
