Consumption again demands five multinationals to withdraw 141 advertisements of tourist flats in the Palestinian territories occupied by Israel

The Spanish Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption, and Agenda 2030 has ordered five multinational companies to remove 141 advertisements for vacation properties in territories occupied by Israel, despite existing laws prohibiting such activity. This follows previous warnings issued in February, where over 100 ads were removed but new listings have since reappeared. The legal basis comes from Royal Decree-Law 10-2025, which prohibits advertising for goods and services originating from Israeli settlements in Palestinian territories. Despite this law, platforms continue to publish such listings in Spain and other countries. The ministry has not disclosed the names of the companies targeted this time. In December 2023, seven companies were previously warned, leading to the removal of 108 ads by February 2024. Additionally, a coalition of NGOs filed a complaint against Edreams Odigeo for facilitating tourism in occupied areas. The Spanish government has implemented broader measures, including restrictions on fuel shipments to Israel, airspace access for military aircraft, and entry for individuals involved in the genocide in Gaza.

Consumption demands five multinationals to withdraw in Spain 141 advertisements of tourist accommodation in Palestinian areas occupied by Israel

The Spanish consumer affairs agency, Consumo, has demanded five multinational companies to remove 141 advertisements for tourist accommodations located in areas of Palestine occupied by Israel. These ads were being promoted in Spain, raising concerns about the ethical implications of promoting tourism in territories under Israeli occupation. The move highlights growing scrutiny over businesses that may be complicit in supporting activities in disputed regions. The affected companies have been asked to comply with this request, which reflects broader discussions around corporate responsibility and international law regarding occupied territories.

Bias read (Progressive): The article frames the issue as a demand from a government agency against corporations for advertising in occupied Palestinian territories, which aligns with a critical stance toward Israeli policies and supports the Palestinian cause. This framing emphasizes corporate accountability and ethical st站
