Bulgarian winery 'Villa Yambo' won a total of 10 medals at this year's prestigious international wine competition Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, including eight gold medals. Among the highest-rated wines was the naturally sparkling 'Vineyards Selection' made exclusively from selected vineyards in ecologically clean microregions using the traditional method of secondary fermentation in bottles, similar to the technique used in France's finest champagne wines. Other gold medal winners included 'Vineyards Selection Rose,' 'Vineyards Selection Tenovo' (a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot), and 'Vineyards Selection Topolitsa' made from Syrah grapes. The 2017 vintage of 'Vineyards Selection Tenovo' was previously recognized as the best red wine among all samples submitted to the competition. The 'Villa Yambo' rose series, which is the most popular line of the winery, also received an award, demonstrating that high-quality wine is accessible to mass consumers.
