Community infrastructure will get priority under Oyebamiji — APC secretary

Senator Basiru Ajibola, national secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), announced that Governorship candidate Bola Oyebamiji would prioritize community infrastructure upgrades if elected governor of Osun State. The declaration came during an APC campaign visit to Irepodun and Orolu local government areas, held at the palace of Oba Peter Akinyooye, Olufon of Ifon Orolu. Oyebamiji, who is running on the APC ticket, emphasized his commitment to improving living conditions in rural communities through targeted infrastructure projects. Oyebamiji outlined his plans for immediate action upon assuming office, stating that the first major initiative would involve upgrading community-based facilities. He argued that despite a significant increase in federal allocations, ranging from N586 billion in April 2023 to over N2.7 trillion in June 2026—the state had not effectively utilized these funds for grassroots development. According to Basiru, the current administration had neglected community infrastructure, leaving many wards without essential services. The senator highlighted the lack of alignment between federal funding and its implementation at the local level. He noted that while the state receives substantial financial support, the distribution and utilization of these resources remain inadequate. Oyebamiji pledged to conduct thorough needs assessments before initiating any infrastructure project, ensuring that resources are directed where they are most needed. During the campaign address, Oyebamiji assured voters that his administration would deliver equitable governance across all regions of the state.
