Police conducted raids at multiple addresses, with charges including embezzlement, abuse of office, and extortion. Beşikçioğlu, known for his role in the TV series 'Behzat C.', entered politics in 2024. Separately, CHP councilwoman Sinem Dedetaş of Istanbul’s Üsküdar district was arrested alongside six others on suspicion of bribery, abuse of office, and forming a criminal organization. The state-run news agency Anadolu reported these developments. The Frankfurt-based newspaper FAZ had previously interviewed Dedetaş in May, just after her deputy was detained.
