Chinese carmaker: BYD loses top executive in Germany

The Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has lost its key manager in Germany, Maria Grazia Davino, who has moved to Ford after less than two years with the company. Davino previously led BYD's operations in Germany but reportedly had a difficult relationship with her superior, Stella Li, who oversees all international operations at BYD. According to industry insiders, Davino faced limited autonomy within BYD’s hierarchical structure, which is more centralized compared to Western companies. She will now serve as Vice President of Sales for Ford’s European operations based out of Cologne. Before joining BYD in December 2024, Davino worked extensively for Stellantis, the parent company of Opel.
