Hundreds of chats with Claude went online, including medical analysis and corporate strategy.

A new privacy alert has emerged regarding AI chatbots, specifically Claude developed by Anthropic. Hundreds of user conversations with Claude were made publicly accessible online and searchable via search engines like Google, until the company intervened. These conversations included sensitive information such as medical analyses, corporate strategies, and data related to minors. The issue was identified by users on Reddit forums who reported over 200 conversations across at least 25 pages of search results. The problem stemmed from a feature allowing users to share Claude conversations via public links, some of which ended up on public pages indexed by Google. Anthropic responded by blocking the indexing of these links. A spokesperson emphasized that users retain full control over their conversations and that content shared voluntarily can be archived by third-party services. This incident follows similar cases involving other AI chatbots like ChatGPT and Grok, where user data was inadvertently exposed.
