If the barrier breaks, it could lead to Tolmin.

A flood barrier built in 1966 at the source of the Tolminka River in Polog has suffered serious damage and could potentially fail, which would allow large volumes of water to flow downstream toward Tolmin and further along the Soča River. The local civil protection office has warned of this risk, and the head of the civil protection team, Miha Vencelj, issued an order for urgent measures to prevent collapse. In response, the Water Directorate (DRSV) has begun preparing plans for the barrier’s restoration.
