The municipality of Aleksandrovac successfully implemented a project to establish a free public Wi-Fi network as part of the WiFi4WB initiative under the EU4Digital program, supported by the European Union and the German government, with implementation carried out by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). The free Wi-Fi signal is available to residents and visitors in the center of Župe. Aleksandrovac was selected among 300 local self-governments across five Western Balkan countries—Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Serbia—to receive a comprehensive package of services including equipment purchase, installation, internet access, and system maintenance over two years. The initiative aims to improve internet accessibility in public spaces, support digitalization, and enhance communication, education, and living conditions in public areas while improving the quality of public services.
