The ranking, based on responses from over 24,000 locals across 150 cities globally, evaluates how vibrant, diverse, safe, and affordable nighttime entertainment options are in each location. Bangkok topped the list with 73% of respondents rating its nightlife as excellent or amazing. It was followed by Berlin, New York, Melbourne, and São Paulo. The survey asked residents to rate their cities on several criteria, including safety, variety, affordability, and inclusivity. New York secured third place, recognized for its consistently developing nightlife landscape and commitment to maintaining its energetic and unpredictable atmosphere. The city’s diversity and global influence contribute significantly to its appeal. Melbourne and São Paulo rounded out the top five, with Melbourne noted for its eclectic mix of venues and São Paulo celebrated for its vibrant street culture and underground music scenes. Other notable entries include Medellín in Colombia, which impressed with its creative and inclusive approach to nightlife, and Johannesburg in South Africa, known for its lively party culture and unique blend of urban and traditional elements. In Europe, Brighton took the eighth spot, praised for its welcoming community vibe and inclusive environment. A majority of respondents there agreed that it's easy to meet people and feel part of the local community. The city’s LGBTQ+ scene is particularly active and well-received, contributing to its overall appeal. Amsterdam, ranked tenth, earned recognition for its vibrant nightlife centered in the city center, supported by its long-standing reputation as one of Europe’s most inclusive and friendly destinations for nightlife enthusiasts. The report highlights a broader trend in how cities are responding to shifting expectations around nightlife. According to Grace Beard, a contributor for Time Out, “A good evening out is no longer defined by a single type of venue or a few well-known spots.
