Bulgaria recorded the highest annual growth in service production in the European Union in April, according to Eurostat data published today. Service production in Bulgaria increased by 9.3% year-on-year, marking the strongest growth since November 2022. This follows consecutive months of growth, with increases of 7.4% in March and 4.8% in February. Bulgaria has now taken first place among EU countries in this indicator since January 2022, surpassing Estonia (6.4%) and Poland (6%). Meanwhile, Romania, Denmark, and Luxembourg experienced the largest annual declines in service production, at 5.8%, 5.3%, and 2.9% respectively. On a monthly basis, Bulgarian service producers saw a 1.5% increase compared to March, which had seen a 0.4% decline. In the eurozone and across the EU, service production grew at the fastest rate since October 2025, rising by 1.8% year-on-year. The eurozone recorded a 0.4% increase in March, while the EU saw a 0.9% rise.
