TRAtölye BİA hosted a two-day Spatial Literacy Workshop in Istanbul on July 25–26. The event focused on understanding how space is created and transformed through social relations, including discussions on social memory, urban changes, and access to spatial data. Ceyda Sungur, coordinator of Atölye BİA, introduced the concept of spatial literacy as a process involving both knowledge of space and active participation in shaping it. Topics included the relationship between space and memory, the impact of urban development on residential areas, and the role of open-source data in spatial research. Participants explored how social dynamics such as class, gender, and power influence the creation and evolution of physical environments.
