The latest iteration of BMW’s Series 1 has officially arrived in Argentina, marking the debut of the model’s fourth generation in the country. Priced at nearly US$56,000, this entry-level offering from the Bavarian automaker continues to appeal to buyers seeking compact luxury with advanced technology and performance. The 2025 model, produced at BMW’s plant in Leipzig, Germany, is available in three trim levels—118 Advantage, 118 Sportline, and M135 xDrive, with the tested unit falling into the middle tier. It represents a significant evolution in design, engineering, and features while retaining the brand’s signature blend of sportiness and refinement. The new Series 1 retains its classic silhouette, featuring a long hood shaped like a wedge, flat windows, and a muscular rear section that gives it a dynamic appearance. This MY2025 variant introduces subtle yet noticeable changes in dimensions, growing slightly in length to 4.361 meters, up 42 millimeters from previous models, while maintaining the same width of 1.8 meters and height of 1.459 meters. The wheelbase remains unchanged at 2.67 meters, and the trunk capacity stays at 380 liters, expandable to 1,200 liters. These adjustments enhance practicality without compromising the car’s agile handling characteristics. In terms of design, the front fascia stands out with wide air intakes, updated LED headlights incorporating vertical light elements and dynamic lighting effects, and a redesigned double kidney grille featuring a mix of vertical and diagonal bars. A notable detail is the raised number “1” on the Hofmeister curve (pillar C), emphasizing the model’s identity. New 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/45 tires complete the visual upgrade, giving the vehicle a modern and refined look. Torque output increases to 23.45 kgm (230 Nm) between 1,500 and 4,600 RPM, up from 22.4 kgm previously. Paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, the power is delivered exclusively to the front wheels.
