Six sector-specific industrial parks proposed under BHAVYA

Andhra Pradesh has invited bids for 12 new health infrastructure projects valued at ₹221 crore, aiming to enhance healthcare delivery across the state. The announcement comes amid broader economic initiatives aimed at boosting industrial growth and attracting private investment. These health projects will focus on upgrading medical facilities, expanding diagnostic services, and improving access to quality care in both urban and rural areas. The move follows recent developments in the state's industrial planning, where officials have outlined ambitious plans for six sector-specific industrial parks under the central government’s Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA). These parks are designed to foster specialized industries such as aerospace, organic food production, renewable energy, and textiles. Each park spans hundreds of acres and is strategically located to leverage regional strengths and existing infrastructure. The six industrial parks include the A.P. Space City in Tirupati district, covering 1,000 acres. This facility aims to create an integrated space industry ecosystem modeled after SpaceX, focusing on manufacturing, satellite assembly, and launch logistics. Skyroot Aerospace, known for its successful launch of India’s first privately developed orbital-class rocket, is expected to play a key role in this initiative. Another notable project is the A.P. Drone City in Kurnool, spanning 486 acres. This park is intended to support the growing drone technology sector, providing infrastructure for research, development, and commercial applications. Similarly, the Tekulodu Aerospace and Defence Park in Sri Sathya Sai district, covering 500 acres, will cater to defense-related manufacturing and innovation. In Anakapalli district, the Makavaripalem Organic Food Park, occupying 500 acres, seeks to promote organic farming and related industries. Meanwhile, the Renewable Energy Manufacturing Zone (REMZ) in Prakasam district, covering 498 acres, is poised to attract investments in solar photovoltaic cells, turbine blades, and other green technologies. Land acquisition for this zone has been expedited to facilitate timely implementation. The Veldurthi Mega Textile Park in Palnadu district, also spanning 500 acres, aims to bolster the textile industry through modern infrastructure and streamlined regulatory processes. All these projects are being managed by the A.P. Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC), which serves as the state’s nodal agency for industrial development. The proposal for these industrial parks has been submitted to the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) for further evaluation. Detailed project reports, master plans, and market demand analyses have already been prepared, reflecting thorough groundwork before seeking federal approval. Integration with the state’s Single Desk and digital industrial approval systems is also underway to streamline approvals and reduce bureaucratic delays. A ring-fencing framework outlining operational guidelines, governance structures, and institutional responsibilities has been drafted and reviewed by the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC). This ensures clarity in management and accountability for each park’s development and operation. The state government has emphasized that these industrial parks are being established under the provisions of the A.P. Industrial Corridor Development Authority Act, 2017. They align with the vision of creating industrial nodes that can drive economic activity and job creation across different sectors. As the government moves forward with these plans, attention is also turning to the recently announced health projects. With a combined value of ₹221 crore, these initiatives aim to address critical gaps in healthcare infrastructure, ensuring better outcomes for patients and more efficient service delivery. The tendering process is expected to attract a diverse range of contractors and stakeholders, contributing to the overall development goals of the state.
