U Mađarskoj, u okviru jednog od najzamrzljivijih i najudaljenijih slučajeva zlostavljanja deci, roditelji iz grada Sigetsentmikloša, Rudolf K. i njegova supruga Andrea H., bili su osuđeni na po 13 godina zatvora za više desetina krivičnih dela uključujući fizičko i seksualno zlostavljanje svoje deci. Slučaj je bio izuzetno ozbiljan, jer su roditelji, tokom više od deset godina, sistematski zlostavljali troje svoje dece – dvoje sina i jednu ćerku – i to u najmanjoj dobi, od 8 do 10 godina. Detalji ove zlostavljanja su bili tako ekstremni da su uključivali hranjenje deci pacovima, insektima i životinjskim izmetom, teško zanemarivanje, fizičko i seksualno nasilje, kao i potpunu izolaciju od škole i društvenog okruženja. Naučnici i socijalni radnici su opisali situaciju kao jednu od najgore u zgodnoj historiji Mađarske, gde je decu zanemarivano i zlostavljano na takav način da je postala potpuno izolovana od sveta.
Prvi put je otkriveno ovo zlostavljanje u januaru 2012. godine, kada je najstariji dečak, koji je bio u dobi od 10 godina, uspeo da pobegne iz kuće i dostigne školu. Tada je poverio nastavnicima i školskom psihologu, što je dovelo do aktiviranja policije i centra za socijalni rad. Kad su nadležni organi ušli u kuću, zatekli su stravične uslove: nehigijenske prostorije, preplašenu decu i jasno izraženu nehranjenost. Otkriveni su i detalji o fizičkom i seksualnom zlostavljanju, koji su bili tako ekstremni da su zahtevali poseban pristup zaštiti maloletnika. Oba roditelja su bili zatvoreni 2017. godine, a njihova kazna je bila izvršena u Nacionalnom zatvoru u Tekelji. Međutim, njihov proces je bio zatvoren za javnost, jer su se pravosnažno koristili pravila zaštite maloletnika.
Trenutno, Rudolf K. služi kaznu u zatvoru, a njegova partnerka, Andrea H., još uvek se nalazi u zatvoru u Kaloči. Sudija za izvršenje krivičnih sankcija Suda za okolinu Budimpešte, Judit Vukov, objasnila je da je proces socijalizacije osuđenog u toku, ali da se ne učestvuje u radu ni u obrazovnim programima. U isto vreme, u Srbiji, drugi slučaj zlostavljanja deci je takođe izazvao ogroman šok. Vaspitač iz Odžaka, I. O., bio je osuđen za 30 krivičnih dela, uključujući nedozvoljene polne radnje i dečju pornografiju. On je zlostavljao decu u vrtiću “Poletarac” tokom više godina, od 2017. do 2020. godine. Slučaj je bio otkriven kada je jedan dečak, star četiri godine, prijavio roditeljima da ga je nagog fotografisao I. O.
