AgiBot overtakes Unitree as top global humanoid robot vendor in first half amid IPO push

AgiBot has taken the lead as the world's top seller of humanoid robots in the first half of 2026, surpassing Unitree Robotics, according to a report by Smart Analytics Global. Based in Shanghai, AgiBot secured 44 percent of the global market by shipping approximately 8,400 units between January and June. This represents a year-on-year increase of 562 percent in shipments, driven by its diverse range of products including full-sized bipedal A-series models, compact X-series units, and wheeled G-series robots. AgiBot's expansion into multiple product lines has allowed it to capture a broader segment of the market compared to Unitree, which remains focused on its flagship G1 model. Hangzhou-based Unitree shipped around 5,900 units during the same period, securing 31 percent of the global market. Its shipments were largely centered on educational, research, and performance applications, according to the research firm. Both companies are positioning themselves for major financial milestones. Unitree is preparing for an anticipated listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's Star Market, a key platform for tech firms in China. The company set its initial public offering price at 150.8 yuan per share, aiming to raise about 6.1 billion yuan (approximately US$904 million). This move is viewed as a significant indicator of confidence in the growing humanoid robotics sector within mainland China.
