Bangalore Urban, Rural & Ramanagara District Co-Operative Milk Producers Societies Union Limited (BAMUL) announced price increases for ghee, butter, and paneer effective November 5, 2026. This follows recent hikes in milk and curd prices by the Karnataka Milk Federation. Specific price adjustments include a rise in 1-liter ghee sachets from Rs 715 to Rs 850 and 500-gram salted butter packs from Rs 310 to Rs 380. The previous price revision occurred in July 2026, where prices had already increased by 10 percent. P.C. Rao, honorary president of the Bangalore Hotels Association, criticized the decision, describing it as a significant financial burden that adds approximately 25 percent to operational costs for the hospitality sector.
