From July: No long-distance rail traffic via Brenner for 2 weeks

From mid-July to early August, there will be significant restrictions on long-distance train services on the Brenner railway line between Innsbruck and Bolzano due to construction work on the Italian side. Starting July 17, two out of five daily connections will be affected, and from July 18 to August 1, there will be no long-distance rail traffic at all between Innsbruck and Bolzano. This will be replaced by bus services as an alternative. Additionally, maintenance work by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) will cause disruptions to local train services. From July 18, trains will not be able to enter the Brenner station, so local trains will run only up to or from Gries near the Brenner Pass. A bus replacement service will operate between Steinach and Brenner. In the second phase of construction, from July 23 to August 1, the section from Innsbruck to the Brenner Pass will be closed, requiring further adjustments to local train routes and additional bus services. Similar closures have occurred previously, such as in August 2023.
