Европейският парламент (ЕП) прие резолюция за напредъка на Северна Македония (РСМ) за 2025 г. със засилен акцент върху необходимостта от вписване на българите в конституцията на страната, както и на решителна позиция относно двустранните спорове между България и РСМ. Резолюцията беше приета с 411 гласа „за“, 120 „против“ и 120 „въздържал се“. Това е резултат от голяма политическа битка в Брюксел, където ключовата точка беше параграф 73, който изисква съвместната историческа комисия между България и РСМ да работи на основата на обективни и проверими исторически източници, съгласно Втория протокол към Договора за добросъседство. Поправката на докладчика Томас Вайц, която искаше да изтрие този параграф, беше отхвърлена от евродепутатите. Въпреки това, формулировката за „обща история“ между двете държави остава в текста.
Вайц, докладчикът за РСМ в ЕП, призна, че не подкрепя тези членове, които отразяват двустранните отношения между България и РСМ, но демократичното мнозинство в ЕП реши да ги включи. Въпреки това, се подчертава необходимостта от сътрудничество между България и РСМ, за да се постигне европейската интеграция.
Инцидентът с палежа на колите на българското посолство в Скопие в понеделник добави още по-голяма напреженост в дебатите. Той напомни, че България играе ключова роля в размразяването на европейската перспектива за РСМ през 2022 г., когато бе договорен Европейският консенсус. Борисов изрази съжаление, че атаката срещу Втория протокол към Договора за приятелство и добросъседство беше неуместна и контрапродуктивна. Той подчерта, че съответствие с договорените условия е необходимо за напредъка на РСМ.
Премиерът на България Румен Радев изрази категорична позиция, че няма какво да си каже с премиера на РСМ Християн Мицкоски, защото проблемът не е двустранен, а е със Съюза. Той подчерта, че РСМ трябва да убеди ЕС, че спазва човешките права и може да гарантира сигурността на всички дипломатически представителства на нейна територия. Радев изрази тревога, че в РСМ няма ясно установени принципи на върховенство на правото и няма последствия върху извършителите на такива недостойни деяния. Той предупреди, че без такива принципи, няма какво да си каже повече с Мицкоски.
В Северна Македония започват разговорите в рамките на управляващата коалиция за промени в правителството. Премиерът Християн Мицкоски ще се срещне със съпредседателите на ВЛЕН и с председателя на ЗНАМ. Той обяви промяна в правителството още в края на миналата година, а преди ден заяви, че ще бъдат сменени министри в чиито ведомства е очаквал „по-голяма ангажираност в двугодишния период на правителството“. От ВЛЕН информираха, че на срещата днес се очаква да бъдат обсъдени принципите на реконструкцията и да се чуят позициите, но и визията на премиера за „прекомпозиране“ на кабинета – до каква степен ще има промени сред министри, заместник-министри и директори в публичния сектор, ще бъде ли ключът към промените само подмяната на някои министри или ще се даде приоритет на размяната на министерства между партньорите в правителството.
