The decision follows a previous warning from the Ministry of Human Capital on Friday, which had already stated that education was deemed an essential service under the labor reform, mandating that 75 percent of usual educational services must be maintained during strikes. Ctera announced the strike for the date when classes resume in the city and province of Buenos Aires after winter break. The union cited the government’s failure to convene a national salary negotiation as the primary reason for the action. The union is demanding an urgent call for a national salary negotiation, a wage increase, immediate payment of the Teacher Incentive Fund (Fonid), and national funds allocated to education.
