Lomax has been sidelined since May due to osteitis pubis, a common ailment among professional athletes. He has been undergoing rehabilitation at Rugby Australia headquarters, working closely with medical staff to regain fitness. His goal is to return to peak form ahead of the Wallabies’ spring tour of Europe later this year. Lomax expressed his determination to represent both codes, rugby union and rugby league, and to make history as a dual international. “The thought of heading to the Chiefs at the end of next year while having represented my country in both codes is the ultimate motivation for me,” Lomax said. He emphasized that while the opportunity to play for the PNG Chiefs is significant, his primary focus remains on the Wallabies. “My heart and soul is absolutely dedicated to Australia in rugby union right now. He noted that each week brings progress, and he is optimistic about his recovery timeline. “I’m up at RA most days through the week getting it sorted. Hopefully, I’m back sooner than later,” he said.
