The storm hit hardest during the night of July 18 to 19, when fierce gusts uprooted approximately 50 trees, pine and coniferous species, across the island. These fallen trees damaged parked cars, tents, and roads. Firefighters reported the extent of the destruction, noting that the force of the wind caused considerable disruption. On the mainland, Italian coastal areas near Trieste also faced strong winds and funnel clouds, though the damage there was less severe compared to the Croatian islands. In the waters surrounding Lussino, the storm wreaked havoc, with numerous boats being driven ashore by the gales. Many vessels found themselves stranded among rocks along the coastline, particularly on nearby smaller islands such as Unie and Sansego. The impact extended beyond land, as several boats in distress were reported off the coast of the Quarnero Gulf. One such vessel, carrying three Austrian tourists, was rescued by the Croatian coast guard before it sank. According to reports from Dolomiti, the crew was found in good condition on an emergency raft close to the damaged boat and subsequently transferred safely to the city of Pola. The coast guard and local authorities worked swiftly to respond to these incidents, coordinating efforts to ensure the safety of both residents and visitors. Rescue operations continued throughout the day, with teams navigating difficult conditions to reach those affected.
