The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has announced a two-day strategic meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar starting August 5, aimed at shaping the group’s future direction. Founder Abhijit Dipke confirmed that the CJP has no intention of transforming into a political party, despite growing speculation about its potential evolution. The gathering will include key figures from the organisation, including Dipke himself, spokespersons, and senior leaders, who will deliberate on the movement’s trajectory after the recent successful protest against former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The decision to hold the strategy session follows weeks of internal discussions among the CJP’s core team, involving consultations with a group of fifty dedicated volunteers who participated in the prolonged Jantar Mantar protest. According to CJP spokesperson Saurav Das, the organisation plans to initiate a nationwide listening tour post-meeting, engaging with volunteers and youth groups to understand their concerns and aspirations. The protest against Pradhan, which lasted 36 days, culminated in his resignation on July 25, marking a significant victory for the movement. Abhijit Dipke reiterated his stance against entering formal politics, citing widespread disillusionment with the existing electoral framework. He expressed concerns about the integrity of the voting system, noting instances where votes appear to be altered or manipulated. Additionally, Dipke highlighted the role of investigative agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in fracturing political alliances, making the formation of yet another political entity seem impractical. His comments reflect broader skepticism towards traditional political structures within the CJP. During the strategy meeting, Dipke is expected to address allegations of external interference in the Jantar Mantar protests. He previously claimed that outsiders incited violence during the demonstrations, leading to incidents involving stone-pelting and police crackdowns. These claims were made in the context of questioning the effectiveness of Delhi Police under Home Minister Amit Shah. Dipke argued that the presence of 2,100 individuals identified as criminals at the protest site indicated a lack of control or possibly coordinated efforts to undermine the movement.
