A young driver from Međimurje was recently fined 4,640 euros for a series of serious traffic violations committed on Friday evening in Paraga. The incident occurred around 11 PM when he was driving an unregistered vehicle, before obtaining the right to independently operate a motor vehicle, and while under a ban on operating category B vehicles. In his blood, police found 1.57 percent alcohol. Due to not adjusting his speed according to road conditions or visibility, he lost control during a turn, crashed off the road, hit the side fence of a house, then into a tree, and the car flipped over onto its side. The ambulance service transported him to the Čakovac hospital where he remained under treatment. The severity of his injuries will later be assessed. According to the police statement issued on Monday, "Due to committing offenses under the Road Safety Act, the 22-year-old driver faces a financial penalty totaling 4,640 euros, along with the imposition of protective measures prohibiting operation of category B motor vehicles for nine months. Additionally, the driver's license record will have 18 negative offense points entered."

On Thursday evening, a routine traffic check on Gračanska Street revealed several serious violations committed by a 25-year-old driver. Around 9:50 PM, police stopped him as he was driving his personal car with Zagreb registration numbers westward. Upon inspection, it was determined that during the drive, he had not used the safety belt, was operating the vehicle before acquiring the right to independently manage a motor vehicle, meaning without having passed the driver’s exam, and had refused to take a drug test, as well as providing samples of blood and urine for analysis. Furthermore, the police identified technical defects in the vehicle. On the control panel, a light indicating a greater technical deficiency was lit. After completing the procedure, the driver was detained and brought to the Municipal Traffic Court in Zagreb. The police proposed a fine of 2,900 euros and a three-month ban on operating category B vehicles. The court accepted the police proposal, declared him guilty, and imposed a fine of 2,900 euros.
